Palvari Ky, founded by Kari Ahonen, started smoke-curing meat in Leppävesi, Laukaa, in 1984. The company changed owners at the start of the 21st century. The company also expanded at the same time, and Martti Mikkola founded the new company Tiituspohjan Palvari Oy. In 2013, the company was acquired by Helvi Pohjanpalo and Teemu Lehtimäki.
